OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
Forced migration is by no means a new phenomenon in world history, but it is in the modern world that it is the most visible: new technologies amplify the voices of the marginalised and enable new techniques for engaging these narratives with the public.
We are honoured to host our speakers to discuss their work with modern creative technologies to engage with both the legacies and ongoing realities of forced migrations across the globe.
Speakers
Professor Navtej Purewal (Researcher VR Border Crossings project)
Dr Sonja Wolf (Director of The Vertical Border)
Dr Benjamin Worku-Dix (Founding Director of PositivesNegatives)
Chair: Bidisha Mamata (Broadcaster, journalist, and artist)
