Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. The two-week OxTalks freeze period starts on Monday 2nd March. During this time, there will be no facility to publish or edit events. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period. The Christian Cole Society for Classicists of Colour invites you all to attend a lecture on Friday 7th Week (06.03.20) from Dr Christine Yao (the only person of colour in the UCL English department), at the Oxford Classics Faculty – time tbc. Although not a Classicist, Dr Yao’s lecture will be relevant to cross-subject discussion on race, ethnicity and decolonisation.
In Solidarity with the UCU strikes, Dr Christine Yao will be talking about research and teaching as a woman of colour (WOC) academic using WOC feminist theory. The talk will be deeply tied to the importance of the UCU strikes.
