Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. The two-week OxTalks freeze period starts on Monday 2nd March. During this time, there will be no facility to publish or edit events. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period. Steph Lawler is a sociologist whose research has been concerned with social inequalities and social identities, particularly those of class, gender and generation. Her groundbreaking work includes research on women and social mobility in modern Britain. She will be in conversation with Selina Todd, whose history of social mobility, Snakes and Ladders: the Great British Social Mobility Myth, is published in February 2020.
