Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. The two-week OxTalks freeze period starts on Monday 2nd March. During this time, there will be no facility to publish or edit events. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period. Dr Dafydd Owen, Senior Director Medicinal Chemistry, Pfizer, Cambridge Massachusetts will talk about: “The discovery of Paxlovid- the journey of the Pfizer SARS2-Covid 19 drug. ”
Dr Owen was the team leader at Pfizer to develop the oral inhibitor Paxlovid, targeting the SARS2-Covid 19 protease. This discovery was one of the milestones to mitigate the recent COVID19 pandemic.
