Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. From now until the launch of Oxford Events, new events cannot be published or edited on OxTalks while all existing records are migrated to the new platform. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period.
From 16th, Oxford Events will launch on a new website: events.ox.ac.uk, and event submissions will resume. You will need a Halo login to submit events. Full details are available on the Staff Gateway.
1 in 7 births are affected by gestational diabetes (the experience of diabetes during pregnancy). Of these, the vast majority of cases experiencing diabetes-related hyperglycaemia (an excess of glucose in the blood) are in low- and middle-income countries where access to maternal care is often restricted.
So what is all the fuss about? In this seminar, Senior Research Fellow Dr Jane Hirst will focus on the global burden of gestational diabetes and associated challenges in its management during pregnancy and after birth. Jane will also share exciting approaches to addressing this burden, including the novel adoption of digital monitoring and machine learning in work by Jane and colleagues at The George Institute for Global Health, UK.
A recording will be made available shortly after the event. Follow us on Twitter @georgeinstuk with #GeorgeSeminars to catch the release, and subscribe to our YouTube channel here.
