OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
Please join us to celebrate the publication of Sam Rutherford’s book, Teaching Gender: The British University and the Rise of Heterosexuality, 1860–1939, published by Oxford University Press. Sam will be in conversation with Professor William Whyte, followed by audience Q&A and a drinks reception.
Sam Rutherford is an historian of gender and sexuality, education, ideas, and the politics, society, and culture of nineteenth- and twentieth-century Britain. Prior to coming to Glasgow, he received his PhD in History from Columbia University in 2020, and then spent 3.5 years as a Junior Research Fellow and tutor in History at Merton and Corpus Christi Colleges, Oxford.
