OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

Last year, Professor Justin Sheffield returned to the UK to take-up the post of Professor of Hydrology and Remote Sensing at the University of Southampton’s Faculty of Geography, having been at Princeton since 2000. Prof Sheffield’s research is centred on large-scale hydrology and its interactions with climate variability and change.
He has published extensively on hydrological extremes, climate change, and hydrological processes from catchment to global scale, and on the application of fundamental research to natural hazards impacts reduction, and water and food security particularly in developing regions, including monitoring and prediction systems.
He has received a number of accolades including the The Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water in 2014 for research work on drought monitoring and prediction, and the Plinius Medal of the European Geosciences Union in 2013 for outstanding multi-disciplinary research and applications in hydrological hazards.
