OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

Dr Ruth Deyermond is Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Post-Soviet Security in the Department of War Studies, King’s College London and Associate Editor of the European Journal of International Security. She previously worked in HM Treasury in areas including UK policy towards the International Financial Institutions. Her primary research expertise is in Russian foreign and security policy, particularly in relation to Europe, the US, and the states of the former Soviet Union, and in US foreign policy. Her publications include the book Security and Sovereignty in the Former Soviet Union, and numerous articles and chapters on Russian and US foreign policy; her current main research project is on post-Cold War US policy towards Russia. She has been a frequent contributor on the issue of the current war in Ukraine to UK and international media. She has given evidence on the war to the UK parliament’s National Security Strategy Joint Committee, was part of the expert group for the European Parliamentary Research Service’s strategic foresight analysis EU-Ukraine 2035, and is currently involved in a project analysing the UK-Russia relationship for the UK parliament.
