OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
Around the world, people’s homes and heritage (tangible and intangible) are being lost through natural and human disasters. As researchers and heritage professionals based in Oxford how can we best respond?
This event showcases a recent video project by Dr Ammar Azzouz, Honorary Research Associate in the School of Geography and the Environment and Analyst at Arup, entitled ‘Domicide’. This project examines the impact of war on cities throughout history across different regions as Spain, Poland, Bosnia and Syria. After Ammar has introduced the project and shown a clip of the video, we will have two short presentations on the roles of digital reconstruction/ engagement (Dr Lia Costiner, Encoding Heritage Network – www.torch.ox.ac.uk/encoding-heritage) and structural health imaging (Dr Sinan Acikgoz, Department of Engineering Science) in helping heritage in hazardous environments, followed by a question and answer session with the audience.
Joining information for this event will be sent to attendees a few days before the event.
Should you have any questions, or wish to RSVP without using Eventbrite, please email the OUHN Team via heritage@ouce.ox.ac.uk
