Murder in the City: What can practice as research tell us about the early modern state?

This practice as research workshop stages the 1590s tragedy ‘A Warning for Fair Women’ with early modern rehearsal techniques, in an attempt to recover the play’s effects upon audiences, and to explore its visualisation of the processes of law enforcement in London. History DPhil candidate Lucy Clarke will give a short talk introducing the play and its contexts, and lead a discussion with actors and audience after the performance.

All are welcome, including undergraduates. Facebook event can be found here: www.facebook.com/events/2604737199540716. Please email lucy.clarke@jesus.ox.ac.uk if you have any questions.
