OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
Join playwright Ella Hickson, Dr Sos Eltis and Hannah Greenstreet for a conversation about playwriting and politics.
Ella Hickson is one of the most exciting contemporary playwrights working in Britain, known for her plays’ formal inventiveness and engagement with politics. Her plays include The Writer (2018), which tears apart the gender politics of conventional playwriting, Oil (2016), which explores 150 years of Britain’s dependence upon oil through a mother-daughter relationship, and Anna (2019, co-created with Ben and Max Ringham), which immerses the audience in Communist East-Berlin to take on capitalism. In 2018, she was elected a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. She is a tutor on the MSt in Creative Writing at the University of Oxford.
