OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

Adam Phillips is a psychoanalyst and essayist. He is author of many books, including On Kissing, Tickling and Being Bored, On Flirtation, The Beast in the Nursery, Darwin’s Worms, Houdini’s Box, Going Sane, Missing Out, Becoming Freud, and In Writing. His most recent book, Attention Seeking, was published last year.
‘The Poet’s Essay’ seminar is held three times a year. There are no sign-up lists or reserved places, although there is a small amount of required reading for each seminar. The series focuses on American poetry of the twentieth century. Before each seminar, Phillips prepares a handout featuring a selection of work to be discussed; the handout is available via a downloadable link, and at the seminar Phillips introduces the material and leads the discussion.
