Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. From now until the launch of Oxford Events, new events cannot be published or edited on OxTalks while all existing records are migrated to the new platform. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period.
From 16th, Oxford Events will launch on a new website: events.ox.ac.uk, and event submissions will resume. You will need a Halo login to submit events. Full details are available on the Staff Gateway.
Recent years have seen an increasing interest in legal mobilization – broadly speaking, the employment of judicial means to achieve political change, in particular by civil society. Legal mobilization seems to have become a commonplace instrument in the repertoire of many non-state actors, in fields as diverse as environmental policy, health care, employment discrimination or migration. Yet, the burgeoning scholarship also comes with conceptual and methodological challenges. What are the boundaries of the concept – is every NGO that goes to court engaging in legal mobilization? How can the conditions that foster legal mobilization and its success be identified empirically?
This small workshop is an opportunity for early-career researchers to discuss these questions and present their work on legal mobilization.
