Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. The two-week OxTalks freeze period starts on Monday 2nd March. During this time, there will be no facility to publish or edit events. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period. Most of us will experience several career changes in our professional lives, whether desired or imposed. That means living through a time of transition, the subjective experience of moving from old to new roles and self-conceptions. In this lecture, Herminia will discuss the nature of identity, the primacy of work in shaping and changing our sense of self, the vagaries of finding oneself ‘betwixt and between’ identities, and the importance of work activities, social networks and personal narratives in both loosening old identifications and experimenting with new possible selves.
