How to remake sustainable urbanization for individuals, places and regions across time? How to quantify it for diversifying and targeting coping governance strategies? How to identify the trade-off among scale and agglomeration economies, environmental externalities and inequality? How is sustainable urbanization challenged from a dynamic, relational and multi-scalar approach? This talk focuses on the China case, offering solutions and policy implications in terms of achieving economic, environmental and socially equitable growth without engendering external cost for sustainable urbanization.
