OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
the talk will be broadcasted live on the society’s Facebook page, YouTube channel, and Twitter account, more details see: fb.me/e/1IxuGrSnv
In this workshop David will be discussing why founding a company is the most ambitious thing you could do with your career/research and why in 2021, the scale, scope and cost of launching your own startup has never been more attractive. We’ll also feature examples of companies and talk briefly about the key next steps you might want to explore to get started.
David is an Entrepreneur in Residence at Entrepreneur First, the world’s leading talent investor, and Co-founder and Director of Revena, a global technical network that supports both early-stage companies and investors in life science and deep tech. David is a scientist by training and previous Marie Curie Fellow at Oxford. He transitioned from academia to lead the technical programmes at OxSyBio, the Oxford Synthetic Biology spin-out founded by Prof. Hagan Bayley, and has since held a number of senior scientific positions in early-stage biotechnology companies.
