On 28th November OxTalks will move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events' (full details are available on the Staff Gateway).
There will be an OxTalks freeze beginning on Friday 14th November. This means you will need to publish any of your known events to OxTalks by then as there will be no facility to publish or edit events in that fortnight. During the freeze, all events will be migrated to the new Oxford Events site. It will still be possible to view events on OxTalks during this time.

About the workshop
Creating reproducible code can be a daunting task and it is often unclear where to start. In this workshop, we aim to demonstrate Github and how to make your first open source contribution. We will discuss common problems that you may face when getting started. The course will utilize Python software throughout and participants will need to bring their own laptops in order to fully engage with the coding exercises.
Who is it for?
Anyone working in data science or a closely related field who is interested in making their code more reproducible.
Anyone with basic experience of coding in a programming language (e.g. R, Stata, Python)
