Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. The two-week OxTalks freeze period starts on Monday 2nd March. During this time, there will be no facility to publish or edit events. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period. This rehearsed reading of Shakespeare and Fletcher’s ‘Henry VIII’ is part of a wider collaboration between Dr Laura Jayne Wright and Creation Theatre, and funded by TORCH, which seeks to investigate the lavish (and questionable) representation of history in this rarely-performed play. While next year we hope to return this production to its intended form, with rich Tudor costumes and settings, we are delighted to offer a Zoom reading which captures the essence of this play’s delicious language and vicious politics.
