OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
How can the humanities help us tackle the problem of climate change?
Caroline Levine, author of The Activist Humanist: Form and Method in the Climate Crisis, argues that the humanities offers the tools we need to understand the way social institutions operate and bring about political change. The lecture will be followed refreshments, time for conversation, and a free workshop, “The Activist-Scholar,” at 4:00pm.
This event is free to attend but please register in advance. Please enter the event space via Cornmarket Street (across from Wagamama).
This event is sponsored by the Grand Union Doctoral Training Partnership of the Economic and Social Research Council.
