Molecules to Medicine: How Laboratory Discoveries Drive Radiotherapy Advances
Geoff Higgins is the Malcolm and Margaret Howat Chair of Clinical Oncology at Oxford University and is an Honorary Consultant Clinical Oncologist at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust. His laboratory research focuses on developing novel strategies to improve the efficacy of radiotherapy treatment. Key findings are translated into large-scale drug development programmes or directly into clinical trials. He overseas ten multi-disciplinary radiotherapy focused research groups that are led by clinicians, biologists, and medical physicists. * Professor Jonathan Cook
Medical Microbiology: from bench to bedside (and everything in-between)
Jonathan is pursuing a career as a Clinician-Scientist , with a special interest in Medical Microbiology, Infectious Diseases, and structure-guided vaccine design. He is conducting postdoctoral research within the Jenner Institute, focusing on malaria vaccine development. Jonathan is supported by a Banting Fellowship and is a Dr Sara Hope Browne Research Associate at Jesus College.
