Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. The two-week OxTalks freeze period starts on Monday 2nd March. During this time, there will be no facility to publish or edit events. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period. The parable of Gregor Samsa’s sudden transformation from an average man to a monstrous vermin is a larger-than-life, grim version of the everyday changes we all experience moving through life. This lecture muses about other possible lives navigated, futures imagined, communities entered, environments created, and flourishing cultivated. Illness, disability, infirmity, and aging sustain the diversity of human variations.
