OxWiR is a meetup group for University of Oxford affiliates who are either doing gender-related field work or identify as women in the academy.​ Our aim is to provide a starting point and space for a conversation on how different ways of self-identifying impact the experience of fieldwork. Despite using the label women, we wish to include all gender identities and anyone who feels that they would benefit from participation. The principles underpinning intersectional feminism guide the organisation as well as the facilitation of this workshop series.
