Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. The two-week OxTalks freeze period starts on Monday 2nd March. During this time, there will be no facility to publish or edit events. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period. The Maison Française d’Oxford and the Rothermere American Institute are delighted to welcome the conference ‘Love and Lenses: Photographic Couples, Gender Relationships, and Transatlantic Networks in the Long Nineteenth Century.’
This conference will include two public keynotes:
Dr Carolin Görgen (online): ‘“I know what I’m doing” – Female Empowerment and Gendered Ideas of Photography in the Transatlantic Camera Club Network’ on the 12 of October 2023.
Professor Elizabeth Edwards (In-person at the RAI) ‘Bonds, Attachments and Networks: Photographies of Connection’ on the 13 of October 2023.
Both of these keynotes will be open to the public.
