Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. The two-week OxTalks freeze period starts on Monday 2nd March. During this time, there will be no facility to publish or edit events. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period. Once Oxford Events launches, you will need a Halo login to submit events. Full details are available on the Staff Gateway.
The Oxford and Empire Tours project is a university initiative to encourage university graduate students and early career researchers in history and the wider humanities to find unique ways to present their research to interested members of the public. The project will provide the basic training, guidance, and practical skills for students and researchers to develop historical walks and other engagement activities within Oxford and will provide a platform for the public to register for their event.
This project will be trialled in late Trinity 2019 and the goal is to run throughout the summer – allowing members of the public to register for a free guided tour, designed by a university researcher. Tours are based on their own expertise and subjects and routes will vary based on their own interest and design.
