A two-week publishing freeze is expected in early Hilary to allow all events to be migrated to the new platform. During this period, you will not be able to submit or edit events on OxTalks. This session will explore the possibilities for active engagement of citizens – including students – to become more active participants in geographical research that explores some of the big issues of the day. Joe will draw on interdisciplinary and creative research projects that he led in his past role as Professor of Environment and Society at the Open University, including the energy themed Stories of Change and the broadcast-based Earth in Vision project. He will also talk about his ambitions in his new role at the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) to see that institution innovate in public engagement in geography.
