On 28th November OxTalks will move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events' (full details are available on the Staff Gateway).
There will be an OxTalks freeze beginning on Friday 14th November. This means you will need to publish any of your known events to OxTalks by then as there will be no facility to publish or edit events in that fortnight. During the freeze, all events will be migrated to the new Oxford Events site. It will still be possible to view events on OxTalks during this time.

High levels of untreated chronic health conditions (e.g. hypertension and diabetes), poverty and limited social protection are the key issues that limit opportunities for a healthy ageing society in Africa. This discussion will address these issues and take an ‘all-of-society’ approach – a strategy involving all sectors of society to address complex challenges and find solutions – with a focus on ensuring people’s well-being at all ages.
Join Steve Tollman, Founding Director of the Medical Research Council, and Kathleen Kahn, Personal Professor in the School of Public Health, moderated by Professor Alan Stein, Senior Research Fellow in Global Health and Public Policy, as they discuss ongoing research on cognitive change and dementias, the effects of social grants, and other policy-related aspects on the potential for people to reach mid- and older ages in Africa.
