Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. From now until the launch of Oxford Events, new events cannot be published or edited on OxTalks while all existing records are migrated to the new platform. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period.
From 16th, Oxford Events will launch on a new website: events.ox.ac.uk, and event submissions will resume. You will need a Halo login to submit events. Full details are available on the Staff Gateway.
Whether you are considering a career in academia or elsewhere, making connections with people with experience in sectors that interest you can be hugely insightful. The idea of networking can sometimes make us feel uncomfortable, but in this session we’ll explore how it can be a powerful research tool and help you to uncover opportunities. We’ll share practical tips and strategies on how to get started and highlight ways to network to add value to the development of your career ideas. Towards the end of the session we’ll focus on LinkedIn both as an incredibly rich resource for exploring options, and as a way to connect with people with shared interests. We’ll also cover tips on how to make your profile work for you and increase your visibility to potential recruiters.
This session is aimed at researchers – both DPhil students and Research Staff are welcome to join.
