Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. From now until the launch of Oxford Events, new events cannot be published or edited on OxTalks while all existing records are migrated to the new platform. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period.
From 16th, Oxford Events will launch on a new website: events.ox.ac.uk, and event submissions will resume. You will need a Halo login to submit events. Full details are available on the Staff Gateway.
THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
Join us for a discussion about the impact of misinformation and uncertainty during the COVID-19 pandemic on individuals and populations with a panel of experts:
Professor Sir Peter Horby, Director of the Pandemic Sciences Institute, University of Oxford
Dr Richard Horton, Editor-in-Chief, The Lancet
Professor Devi Sridhar, Chair in Global Public Health, University of Edinburgh
The aim will be to determine how to do better in the future. For example, how should the desire to act rapidly in a pandemic be balanced against the need for reliable evidence, how can scientific journals determine what research is fit to publish, and how can misinformation be identified in a world of artificial intelligence?
Doors open at 5pm. The event begins at 5:30pm.
