OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

Technology-facilitated abuse (“tech abuse”) in the context of intimate partner violence (IPV) describes an incident or a pattern of incidents in which digital systems are used with the intention to monitor, control, coerce, threaten, degrade, and harm a victim/survivor. Tech abuse, therefore, intersects closely with other forms of IPV, family and domestic abuse, and stalking. However, tech abuse is not an “official” concept or measurement category. Scholars have used different terminology to describe and evaluate the perpetration of abuse and harassment via digital means. This presentation examines the “boundary questions” that tech abuse creates and provides an overview of the current research landscape whilst discussing the findings of a recent comparative survey conducted with UK and Australian support sector representatives.
