February is the UK’s LGBT+ History Month. Founded in 2005 by Schools Out in response to the repeal of Section 28, a law that forbade the promotion of homosexuality in schools, this offers a chance to celebrate LGBTQ+ history and contribute to the continued liberation of LGBTQ+ people. To recognise the importance of education in challenging prejudice against LGBTQ+ people, the Department of Education is pleased to host an LGBTQ+ Spotlight Event on 28th February.
