OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
In ‘Seeking the Hiding God’, Prof Eisen delves into the profound mystery of divine hiddenness, presenting a compelling exploration of how this central theological dilemma resonates within modern Jewish life. Through rigorous analysis and heartfelt reflection, Eisen tackles the poignant questions that arise when God seems absent, drawing on classical Jewish texts and contemporary thought. His insightful examination reveals how these ancient narratives continue to influence and illuminate the struggles and commitments of faith in today’s world.
Seeking the Hiding God invites readers to join the author in asking, perhaps for the first time, what they actually believe about ultimate matters of faith and doubt – and rewards fellow searchers for ultimate meaning with reassurance that the search itself can be a source of personal fulfillment, vibrant community, and great joy.
