OSSG: The Future of Intelligence in the Face of Unprecedented Global Geopolitical Threats

We are very excited to be hosting Harry Kemsley and Sean Corbett next week on The Future of Intelligence in the Face of Unprecedented Global Geopolitical Threats. The event will take place on Tuesday, November 19th in the Old Library at All Souls College at 8:30pm. As always, there will be a drinks reception prior to the event, starting at 8pm.

Harry Kemsley OBE is President of Government and National Security for Janes, a global open-source information services company specialising in the military, defense, national security, aeorspace and transportation sectors. Harry is an executive with multiple decades of experience working with management teams to execute business strategies that align with the complex interests of stakeholders and utilise sustainable operation models. Harry was previously Managing Director for EMEA Defence and Secure Govt Practice at Hewlett-Packard. Before this, Harry spent 25 years in the Royal Air Force, and led the No.5 Army Cooperation Squadron (comprising over 350 men and women from all three services). Outside of these roles, Harry has had articles on defence and related topics published in Contemporary Security Policy, Royal Air Force, Air Power Review, and the International Studies Association. In 2010, Harry received the Officer of the Order of the British Empire award (appointed by Queen Elizabeth II) for his operations in Afghanistan. In 1995, Harry was awarded the Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for his role in leading teams during the Bosnian Conflict in Former Yugoslavia. Harry has a MSc in Military and Strategic Leadership from Escuela Superior de Las Fuerzas Armadas, Madrid, and a joint honours degree in Economics and Psychology from the University of Manchester.

Air Vice-Marshall Sean Corbett CB MBE is the founder and CEO of IntSight Global, an information services company that specialises in decision-making support for government and commercial organisations. Using cutting edge technologies, including earth observation satellites, in combination with publicly available information on the internet, IntSight Global provides tailor-made information packages for its clients, as well as assessments from ex-military analysts. Sean is also a Senior Associate Fellow at Royal United Services Institute, the world’s oldest independent think tank for international defence and security. Before moving into commercial provisions of intelligence, Sean had a 30-year career in the Royal Air Force, serving in the Gulf War in 1990, the Bosnian War in the mid-1990s, and the Iraq War in 2005. After these operations, Sean rose to Commander of the Joint Service Signals Organisation at RAF Digby in 2006, Chief of UK Intelligence in Afghanistan in 2010, and Deputy UK Military Representative to NATO in 2011. Sean is a graduate of the Royal College of Defence Studies and has a Master’s Degree in Defence Studies. In 2000, Sean received the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire award and was appointed a Companion of the Order of Bath in 2018.
