Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. The two-week OxTalks freeze period starts on Monday 2nd March. During this time, there will be no facility to publish or edit events. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period. At COP28, the operationalisation of the loss and damage fund was hailed as a major victory for climate justice. However, how was the diplomatic agreement achieved and what lies beneath the veneer of consensus? Through the lens of negotiation analysis, and with insights gained from elite interviews, this dissertation project aims to examine Parties’ underlying expectations of the Fund, while conceptualising a typology of strategies involved for conflict resolution.
