On 28th November OxTalks will move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events' (full details are available on the Staff Gateway).
There will be an OxTalks freeze beginning on Friday 14th November. This means you will need to publish any of your known events to OxTalks by then as there will be no facility to publish or edit events in that fortnight. During the freeze, all events will be migrated to the new Oxford Events site. It will still be possible to view events on OxTalks during this time.

Kim Sloan was Curator of British Drawings and Watercolours at the British Museum from 1992 to 2020. Her catalogue of the White watercolours was published, with interpretative essays, as A New World: England’s First View of America (British Museum Press, 2007). In her Thomas Harriot lecture, she will review and question the lens through which we view White’s representations of the people that he and Harriot encountered on the Roanoke expeditions to the ‘New Found Land of Virginia’ in the 1580s.
Oriel College, which has hosted the annual Thomas Harriot lecture since 1990, is pleased to announce the publication of a third volume of lectures: Thomas Harriot: Science and Discovery in the English Renaissance (Routledge: Abingdon and New York, 2023).
After the lecture, at 18:00, there will be an informal drinks reception, also in the Champneys Room.
The college is pleased to announce the publication, last month, of a third volume of Thomas Harriot lectures: Thomas Harriot: Science and Discovery in the English Renaissance (Routledge: Abingdon and New York, 2023).
