Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. The two-week OxTalks freeze period starts on Monday 2nd March. During this time, there will be no facility to publish or edit events. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period. Before they can be adopted into the NHS, new interventions and technologies are formally evaluated by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). Cost-effectiveness is typically a key factor in NICE evaluations. Aimed primarily at early- and mid-career stage biomedical researchers, this symposium will provide an overview of the NICE health technology assessment process, together with economic case studies from the NIHR Oxford Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), and the NIHR Oxford Health BRC.
The symposium will feature talks by leading health economists, biomedical researchers and a recent NICE Technology Appraisal Chair. It will conclude with a buffet lunch and networking opportunities.
