Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. The two-week OxTalks freeze period starts on Monday 2nd March. During this time, there will be no facility to publish or edit events. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period. What’s happening with Plan S – key points and latest developments, from the former head of scholarly communications here at the Bodleian. Plan S is a set of principles agreed in September 2018 by cOAlition S, a group of research funders (including Wellcome, UKRI and ERC) seeking full and immediate Open Access to research publications. It was revised in May 2019 in response to feedback and the implementation date postponed to 1 January 2021. The main principle is that: “all scholarly publications on the results from research funded by public or private grants provided by national, regional and international research councils and funding bodies, must be published in Open Access Journals, on Open Access Platforms, or made immediately available through Open Access Repositories without embargo.”
