OxTalks will soon be transitioning to Oxford Events (full details are available on the Staff Gateway). A two-week publishing freeze is expected in early Hilary to allow all events to be migrated to the new platform. During this period, you will not be able to submit or edit events on OxTalks. The exact freeze dates will be confirmed as soon as possible.

Urbanization is well-known to have evident impacts on heavy precipitation. However, the following questions are not well addressed: (1) do the precipitation in different categories of precipitation intensity response to urbanization in the same way, especially for light and heavy precipitation? (2) does the urbanization alter the temporal distribution and spatial extent of heavy precipitation events? (3) what is the role of moist heatwaves in the impacts of urbanization on heavy precipitation? Addressing the above questions can provide a valuable reference for understanding urbanization-induced changes in heavy precipitation patterns and for improving urban planning and design.
