Workshop - Storytelling Techniques from a Screenwriter: Turn your Thesis into a Book

New College is delighted to offer an exclusive writing workshop. James Moran is a Writers’ Guild Award-winning professional screenwriter who has designed this innovative workshop based on his interviews with top academic publishers. Designed for Early Career Researchers but any academic wishing to write for a broader audience is welcome.

Utilising James’ years of storytelling experience, this interdisciplinary workshop is practical and creative. Using examples from academia and screenwriting, it covers how to:

  • Narrativise complex ideas in a way that appeals to publishers and a wider academic audience.
  • Order your chapters and ideas.
  • Break through writer’s block and get your book finished.

Praise from attendees of James’ previous writing workshops:
“I could not speak more highly of James Moran’s writing workshop.”
“James’ expertise in developing narratives and his facility with the techniques of professional fiction writing were invaluable.”
“I’ve been to quite a few writing workshops and this was the most useful, professional and engaging.”
