OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
The University seeks to reduce scope 1 carbon emissions from around 18,000 COt pa to 4,000 COt pa by 2035. This can only be achieved by replacing gas plant with lower carbon intensive alternatives. This will generally feature heat pumps arranged individually or as networks. This deployment requires a focus on related estates-wide issues including building performance optimisation, electricity use and supply, system resilience, and metering and control, as well as the practicalities of delivery and cost. The University does not have all the answers, but there is a clear approach and this talk introduces the activities the University is taking to address this challenge.
