OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
Professor Martin Conway (Professor of Modern European History, Oxford) speaks, Professor Paul Betts (St Antony’s College, Oxford) is Chair, and Dr Talita Ilacqua (Deakin Fellow, St Antony’s College, Oxford) is Discussant.
In this seminar Professor Martin Conway will be discussing his new book, Western Europe’s Democratic Age, 1945-1968, published by Princeton University Press. His paper will discuss in particular how the making of democracy in Western Europe needs to be understood as a complex historical process, and one which has implications about how we think about the present and future of democracy in Europe.
