OxTalks will soon be transitioning to Oxford Events (full details are available on the Staff Gateway). A two-week publishing freeze is expected in early Hilary to allow all events to be migrated to the new platform. During this period, you will not be able to submit or edit events on OxTalks. The exact freeze dates will be confirmed as soon as possible.

All History Faculty Members are warmly invited to a workshop on Tuesday 22nd June 12:15-14:30, chaired by Professor Philippa Levine, Eastman Professor 2020-21, to reflect on teaching gender history, women’s history and histories of sexuality, prompted by the revisions to the Approaches to History – Gender History strand. You are welcome to join the session whether you plan to teach this new strand or not. The workshop will also involve a bystander training session led by Isabelle Pitt of the Equality & Diversity Unit which will be widely applicable but is also intended to prompt reflection on how best to support students and colleagues when discussing topics around gender and sexuality which might be particularly sensitive.
Schedule
12:15 Introductions
12:15-13:20 Discussion of experiences of teaching Approaches, gender history, women’s history and the history of sexuality, what works, and what doesn’t. The revised reading list will be tabled for review and discussion.
