OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
This workshop is aimed at later stage (2nd, 3rd and 4th year) PhD students in materials science who are interested in learning about innovation and the commercialisation of research. It will engage the next generation of materials science researchers and future entrepreneurs, and equip participants with knowledge of the commercialisation process and steps needed to successfully progress a new material from research to product. The content will cover identifying and managing intellectual property; commercialisation skills development, access to funding, and support available through university technology transfer offices.
The content offers participants an opportunity to better understand how material products are developed through the commercial process. It will provide a chance to explore the development potential of their own research, and the skills and expertise they would need to gain to succeed.
