This talk sets out to explore the benefits of low traffic neighbourhoods, as well as considering the potential negative impact they bring to local communities, and whether or not they can work for everyone.
We have asked four leading voices in the field to share their knowledge, research and pitch their views on the subject. This is the next in our series of events examining key urban issues. It is certain to provoke some lively debate.
– Dr Rachel Lee, Policy and Research, Living Streets
– Patrick Lingwood, Active Travel Lead, Oxfordshire County Council
– Lucy Saunders, Director of Healthy Streets
– Dr Scott Urban, Hertford College and Director of Oxfordshire Liveable Streets
This event is hosted by Kellogg’s Global Centre on Healthcare and Urbanisation and brings together a mix of students, academics, practitioners and members of the public interested in cities and city-living.
The main aim is to provoke discussion and constructive action, linking current best practice in urban development and emerging areas of research. The talks are open to all, and are centred on evidence-based knowledge and an ethos of research-practice-educate. There will be a Q&A session.
Refreshments will be served from 17:00. The talk will begin at 17:30, followed by a drinks reception at 18:30.
This event is free, and open to all. Registration is required.
