On 28th November OxTalks will move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events' (full details are available on the Staff Gateway).
There will be an OxTalks freeze beginning on Friday 14th November. This means you will need to publish any of your known events to OxTalks by then as there will be no facility to publish or edit events in that fortnight. During the freeze, all events will be migrated to the new Oxford Events site. It will still be possible to view events on OxTalks during this time.

Once we were told that life after university would be pretty straightforward. A degree would lead to a job and a career, and many (perhaps most) of our worries would be over. After two turbulent decades the 21st century now provides a different context, and new questions arise. What does the word “career” still mean in practice? Will there be enough work to go around? Is homo sapiens on the way out, like an out of date product, to be replaced by algorithms, AI and automation?
Perhaps this is all too gloomy. New technology will make hitherto unimagined progress possible. Maybe there will be more time for fun and leisure. The future’s bright…maybe.
Come along to hear Stefan Stern, author and journalist, discuss our brilliant future and discuss what’s coming next.
