Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. The two-week OxTalks freeze period starts on Monday 2nd March. During this time, there will be no facility to publish or edit events. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period. A few days before Taras Shevchenko’s birthday Dr Nadiya Ivanenko and Dr Anastasiia Kolokolova will speak about famous Ukrainian poet, novelist, playwright, artist, political and public figure. They will present him as a man of universal gifts and interests whose entire life and work were dedicated to the Ukrainian people.
You will learn about Taras Shevchenko as one of the most outstanding masters of Ukrainian fine art. His influence on Ukrainian culture has been so immense that he is viewed as an almost iconic figure with his great contribution to the growth of the national Ukrainian consciousness.
Taras Shevchenko’s works have been translated into almost all languages of the world. You will listen to his poems cited in different languages.
