Mechanisms Driving the Rapid Evolution of Genomes

Annual Jordan Translational Medicine Lecture - this is an in-person event only

David Pellman’s laboratory investigates how errors in cell division lead to catastrophic mutational events, genome instability, and cancer. His group has uncovered mechanisms linking nuclear architecture to chromothripsis and other major genomic rearrangements, revealing how abnormal nuclear structures contribute to tumour evolution. Their recent work explores how nuclear atypia can cause heritable changes in chromatin organisation and gene expression, advancing our understanding of genome instability in human disease.
