On 28th November OxTalks will move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events' (full details are available on the Staff Gateway).
There will be an OxTalks freeze beginning on Friday 14th November. This means you will need to publish any of your known events to OxTalks by then as there will be no facility to publish or edit events in that fortnight. During the freeze, all events will be migrated to the new Oxford Events site. It will still be possible to view events on OxTalks during this time.

The history of video gaming is a story of creativity and innovation, generating a multi billion-dollar industry that’s driving rapid technological change. Academia is now pivoting its attention to this vibrant sector, but does gaming really have a place in higher education, and what might that look like? Join this interactive forum to find out, and to discover the ways in which our media and museums are demonstrating how gaming is helping define our culture.
Welcome a stellar line-up of experts to discuss the gaming world’s past, present, and future, at the latest interactive event of the Jesus College Cheng Kar Shun Digital Hub programme. There’s no better way to engage with the subject of video games than to actually play them, so, following the panel discussion, join us for an extended play session of a curated selection of historically significant consoles and games. These include Atari 2600 (E.T. the Extra-terrestrial), Nintendo Entertainment System (Super Mario Bros.), Nintendo Switch (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe), and PlayStation 5 (Astro’s Playroom, Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate), plus many more.
