The Oxford Forum for International Development is the largest student-run development conference in Europe, welcoming over 350 students and young professionals each year. Our mission is to facilitate collaboration between all stakeholders in International Development by starting conversations through a conference.
Now in our 12th year, we will be hosting what promises to be our most ambitious conference to date at the Blavatnik School of Government. In partnership with the UNDP and the New York Times and sponsored by the Boston Consulting Group, OxFID 2020 will be offering two days of panel discussions, debates and workshops alongside our keynote addresses with word-class speakers.
Our theme is ‘BEYOND PLEDGES: Delivering Change in an Inclusive World.’ OxFID 2020 will explore how we can achieve greater accountability and inclusivity in International Development through the lens of four lines of questioning:
🔹 From Council to Community
🔹 Cooperation amidst Disruption
🔹 Giving & Taking
🔹 Keeping Promises
We have already confirmed a number of distinguished guests, including Achim Steiner (Administrator of the UNDP), Rachel Glennerster (Chief Economist at UK DFID) and Clive Stafford-Smith (founder of Reprieve). Previous speakers include Kevin Watkins (CEO of Save the Children), Dr Luis Moreno-Campo (Former Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court), Ian Goldin (Former Vice-President of the World Bank), Mark Goldring (Former CEO of Oxfam) and Malala Yousafzai (Pakistani activist and Nobel Prize laureate).
