Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. The two-week OxTalks freeze period starts on Monday 2nd March. During this time, there will be no facility to publish or edit events. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period. Major General Christopher Ghika has just finished a year as the Deputy Commander of the counter ISIS campaign in the Middle East. It is his second tour in this role, having been in Baghdad during the early days of the ISIS rising in 2014/5. He will give an overview of the campaign and how it has changed over time followed by drawing out the main features of the operation and what lessons and guidance diplomats, statesmen and leaders may take from the experience.
