OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
The 2003 Iraq War was one of the most controversial events of the early 21st Century, and the way it is perceived is still being shaped. On Tuesday of 4th Week, Dr Alan Ingram from University College London will be giving a talk about his forthcoming book on viewing the Iraq War through the prism of art. He will offer an examination of how art relates to perceptions of colonialism and modernity, as well as discussing Britain’s role in the invasion and occupation of Iraq. This will be a truly fascinating talk about one of this century’s most contentious events, so get the date in your calendars now!
